Whether he is the spreadsheet guy, focused on financial modeling, or running client engagements, interacting with executives, Aaron’s blended skill set enables him to communicate well with CFOs and address the intricate benefits issues that face HR managers.

Past experience at Mercer and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan gives Aaron keen insight to help employers optimize their health and welfare benefit plans by providing them with knowledgeable financial, strategic, and compliance advice.

When he’s not crunching numbers, the avid outdoorsman is trekking the trails with family and friends.

As an analyst for the Employee Benefits Consulting team, Emma is responsible for working closely with clients to help manage their benefits program. Emma’s background is in behavioral health. In the early stages of her career, she worked as an outpatient mental health therapist and later transitioned into a network management role for Macomb County Community Mental Health. Emma’s previous roles have provided her with valuable experience building and maintaining successful partnerships with a variety of clientele while fostering strong problem-solving skills.  

In her free time Emma is committed to staying active and being outside as much as possible. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

As a Financial Analyst for the Employee Benefits Consulting team, Leah is responsible for providing clients with periodic financial analyses and competitive quotes. This includes monthly reports, cost comparisons, and future projections. Leah earned her degree in Finance from Baker College in Spring 2021. Leah has two years of experience working on group employee benefit financials. In her free time Leah enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

As a consultant on the employee benefits team, Luke utilizes his experience with HR, benefits, and technology to advise employers on their health and welfare plans. He invests time learning about prospective clients, building relationships, and driving the growth of our firm.

He was a collegiate golfer and still loves competing at a high level, staying fit, doing cold plunges, and has a deep adoration of music. Luke enjoys time with his wife (Rachel) and daughter (Josie) and they’re devoted to the Christian faith and their local church community.

As cofounder of LoVasco Consulting Group, Michael represents the third generation of family in the insurance industry. A steward of the reputation his grandfather, father, and family members have established over the last 60 years, Michael continues to uphold their legacy of integrity and hard work by building lasting relationships that focus on taking care of people.

Prior experience working for Deloitte, in New York City, helped shape some of the Michael’s business philosophies that have become integral to LoVasco’s culture of client services. Michael spends much of his time meeting new people and learning about their businesses.

Michael serves as the Finance Chair on the Ascension St. John Foundation Board, and the President of the Young Leaders Council for Racquet Up Detroit.

Michelle’s role on the Benefits team is equal parts educator and analyst. A former high school math teacher, her background lends itself to breaking down complex information and effectively communicating it to clients.

Beyond the basic responsibilities of her role, such as financial analysis, underwriting, and marketing healthcare programs, Michelle works to create benefit solutions that allow clients to achieve their financial goals.

At the office, Michelle’s upbeat personality not only influences the relationships she forms with clients, but also complements the LoVasco team camaraderie. She is a motivated young professional whose love of travel and being active promotes a strong work ethic and desire to continue learning.

Michelle started her career as a Human Resources professional in the banking industry, and also held roles at engineering and staffing firms. During this time, she developed her expertise in many different Human Resource functions, including benefits administration.    

In 2018, Michelle made the move to the benefits consulting industry. As an Account Manager, she works as a liaison between her customers and the insurance providers. Michelle consistently strives to address the needs and concerns of her clients, quickly and effectively. Michelle is known as a great listener, and can effectively develop creative solutions to address her client’s pain points.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys family movie nights, bike rides, and taking walks with her husband Jeff and their two children.  

As an analyst on the benefits team, Rofida is responsible for working closely with clients to manage inbound requests, resolve open issues with insurers, correspond with employees, and assist in the process of creating financial reports. Rofida began her HR career in 2015 and naturally gravitated to employee benefits, eventually recognizing her passion for the subject, she found her niche as a benefits specialist.  

Rofida is inspired daily by her husband and their two kids. In her free time, she likes to do puzzles, swim, and spend time with friends and family.

As a retirement plan consultant at LoVasco, Chris supports 401(k)& 403(B) plan sponsors in their fiduciary governance process, including strategic plan design, investment oversight, and vendor management. In addition, Chris works closely with plan participants to provide financial wellness resources with the intent to positively impact retirement planning outcomes.    

Chris brings over 20 years of financial consulting experience.  As a seasoned professional, Chris has an extensive background in qualified and nonqualified plan advisory, individual financial planning, and strategic design of complex estate and business succession solutions.  

Chris and his wife Renee are devoted to the Michigan foster system, having co-founded PBJ4kids with the mission to provide a better journey for kids in care.  In addition to mentoring local children in the Michigan foster system, PBJ4kids hosts a week-long summer camp that offers local foster children a unique opportunity to create positive childhood memories.

As an analyst on the Retirement Plan Consulting Team, Jason is responsible for working closely with our consultants to provide day-to-day client support. In his previous role as an auditor, Jason developed project management skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a deep commitment to fostering positive relationships with clients.

Jason has a passion for continued learning and serving others. He is an active member of his community, providing basketball training for kids and lending advice on college decisions. Jason enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, hiking the great outdoors, and is an avid basketball player, having played four years at the collegiate level.

As a consultant on the Retirement team, Jim leverages his technical background as a retirement plan and equity research analyst to advise plan sponsors on their retirement benefit programs. Beyond the daily task of supporting clients, Jim plays a key role in monitoring plan investments, educating employees, and business development.  

Outside of the office Jim is active in the Investment Professionals Charity (IPC) which seeks to offer financial wellness education to high school students in the Detroit area. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and is also an avid golfer having played four years at the collegiate level.

As a Financial Wellness Advisor on the Retirement Team, Michael offers education and personalized financial advice to retirement plan participants. Upon graduating with a B.S. in Economics, Michael started his career in the banking industry before making a pivot into retirement and investments. Michael is passionate about helping individuals navigate the financial world, finding joy in guiding them through what can often be an intimidating process. His dedication lies in empowering people to achieve long term financial success.

In college Michael ran track and worked as a personal trainer, where he met his now wife, Grace. Outside of work Michael spends most of his time hiking, lifting, playing tennis, and chasing around his two year old girl, Kiara.  

Mike is an influencer. He helps organizations design, build, and maintain the next generation of workplace savings solutions.

At LoVasco, Mike is responsible for thought leadership and the strategic direction of the firm’s Retirement Plan Consulting practice. His prior experience working at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, NEPC Investment Consulting, and Morgan Stanley’s Graystone Consulting Group, provides a unique perspective on the industry. Mike is motivated every day to help the average American worker, who might not otherwise have access to financial guidance, the opportunity to build a meaningful nest egg for retirement by designing innovative retirement plans.

Mike is an avid Cross-Fitter and is active in his church community.

Ryan assists all of our teams—Executive Benefits, Retirement and Employee Benefits—in developing their areas of business by developing for new ways to gather, analyze, and utilize data.

After fulfilling a summer internship at LoVasco, Ryan was immediately ready to assume a full-time role. His time spent in the industry has proven to be a perfect fit, aligned with the type of life work he was eager to commit himself to. Ryan’s passion for learning lends itself to bringing innovative approaches to financial services with a mission to constantly advance how we do business and keep LoVasco ahead of the curve in technology and efficiency.

As a seasoned consultant specializing in strategic workforce communications, Catherine helps engage minds, capture hearts, and inspire action to drive business results.  Her experience with workforce communications and Human Resources, combined with a sales and marketing background, enables Catherine to apply a well-rounded combination of specialized skills to address clients’ workforce communication and engagement needs.  

With close to 25 years of communications experience, Catherine has successfully helped her clients meet their objectives through well-conceived and implemented communication strategies related to: total rewards, benefits enrollment, plan design changes, compensation, retirement, corporate wellness, benefit integrations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and various organizational change initiatives.  

As the Managing Director of Communications for LoVasco, she and her team offer full-service communications from strategy development and employee sensing, to writing/editing, graphic design, digital solutions and print production.  

She formerly served for eight years as a communications consultant with Towers Watson (currently Willis Towers Watson) —a leading global management consulting firm—and served the last leg of her time there as co-practice leader of the Michigan Communications Practice.  

Catherine then founded and successfully ran her own internal communications business from 2001 through 20022, during which she served clients from various industries, including health systems, manufacturers, utilities, and automotive suppliers.  

She has served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Ontario Compensation Association (MOCA) as co-Vice President of Communications for four years. She has also presented at local and regional events and has co-authored published articles. She is a past recipient of various awards, such as the Renaissance Awards from the International Association for Business Communicators (IABC). 

As a consultant on the Communications team, Kristen is responsible for collaborating with clients to craft impactful employee benefit communications. With over 15 years of experience in strategic communications, copywriting/editing and publication management, Kristen's passion for clear and effective communication drives her dedication to delivering results in every project. Her past roles in diverse industries, including insurance and retirement benefits, have equipped her with the skills to craft compelling narratives in complex environments.

Kristen is a long-time Special Olympics coach and enjoys attending live sporting events and concerts with her husband.

Executive assistant and self-described “office cheerleader,” Angie is a key player in supporting our team with her strong accounting skills and instrumental in building and maintaining our company culture.

Angie’s background is in family entertainment. After 17 years working for a themed attractions corporation, she understands the value of the customer experience and her dedication to sustaining a positive environment for employees propels our teams to take better care of their clients.

Although Angie is a Missouri native, she spent many years of her life living in the southern most states. She quickly adapted to our area and enjoys boating on the Great Lakes with her husband Robert; they are avid travelers.

With more than 40 years’ experience in the industry, Gene leads and inspires his team to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for clients. His experience lies in estate planning & business succession planning, transferring businesses to the next generation, and shielding estates from inheritance taxes.

Prior to forming LoVasco, Gene was president of Brown & Brown of Detroit, one of Michigan’s leading insurance companies, after joining when his independent agency was acquired in 2007. Before entering the insurance industry, Gene practiced public accounting at Arthur Andersen.

Gene sits on the board of Racquet Up Detroit. He is also actively involved at the Pope Francis Homeless Center. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing, and biking.

As LoVasco Consulting Group’s Operations and Human Resource manager, Kate oversees our employees' entire employment life cycle and strives to ensure the day-to-day operations function with maximum efficiency and productivity. Kate is deeply passionate about her work, and her enthusiasm and dedication to employee success makes LoVasco a great workplace.

Outside of her professional commitments, Kate has been a devoted leader in the Girl Scout movement over the past 6 years, serves as a trustee at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church, and loves to travel and tend to her garden in her free time.

Meg works with our team of professionals and clients to manage their insurance policies. Her customer service role is often synonymous with “caregiver.” Meg has been taking care of elder family members since she was 12 years old; her empathy allows her to relate to older clients and understand their concerns and unique needs.

For more than 40 years, Meg has served a range of clientele—from elderly annuity holders to executives. She began her insurance career with CNA in 1980. CNA’s reorganization in early 2002 allowed her the opportunity to join ALCOS (later Brown & Brown) as a Customer Service Representative in the Financial Services division.

Meg appreciates the close-knit, familial feel of LoVasco, where the well being of everyone is most important.

As a wealth management consultant, Mike specializes in developing comprehensive financial planning strategies for individuals and their families, guiding them toward their long-term goals.

A graduate of Michigan State University, Mike combines a deep understanding of the financial markets with a sharp attention to detail. Passionate about delivering concierge-level financial advice, he is dedicated to transparency and building long-lasting, trusted relationships with his clients.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending quality time with his wife and son and is an avid outdoorsman. He is passionate about volunteer work, continuous learning, and physical fitness.

With years of experience spanning retail property and casualty, employee benefits, and life insurance, Roman is a seasoned Underwriter. He is passionate about guiding families through the estate planning process, meticulously navigating new cases to achieve optimal plan design, pricing, and structure. Roman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College and is licensed in Illinois for Life & Health and Property & Casualty. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and traveling. Additionally, Roman coaches his nephew's little league team.
